Moorings and buoys for vessels, pontoons and works
We install and maintain the mooring systems that vessels and marine works need: mooring buoys for ships waiting for a berth or discharging at a terminal, moorings for pontoons, barges and work platforms, and the anchoring systems that hold booms, pipelines and other installations on the seabed. We work with concrete sinkers, anchors, chains and ropes sized for the expected loads, and with our own divers for inspection, connection and underwater maintenance.
What we do
Mooring buoys
Installation of mooring buoys for vessels in regulated anchorages, terminals and work areas: permanent or temporary anchoring, chain and buoy with the required marking. We have installed, for example, the mooring system for a tanker at a terminal and the moorings of concrete barges in port works.
Sinkers and anchors
Manufacture or supply of concrete sinkers and anchors, transport by pontoon or hopper barge, placement in position and connection of chains and ropes. For temporary works we also offer anchor and sinker rental.
Mooring of pontoons and platforms
Anchoring of work pontoons, barges, floating platforms and jetties during marine works, with repositioning as the works progress.
Subsea installations
Marine and anchoring support for the installation of subsea pipelines and cables and for the positioning of items on the seabed.
Maintenance of buoys and moorings
Periodic inspection of navigation and mooring buoys: chains, shackles and swivels, cleaning of fouling, replacement of worn parts and marking. We have maintained the navigation buoys of the ría of Ferrol.
How we work
- Study: expected loads (vessel or item, wind, current and waves), seabed type, depth and duration.
- Proposal: anchoring system, materials and marking, with price and schedule.
- Permits: occupation authorisation and notices to the Harbour Master and the Port Authority when required.
- Installation: transport and placement with our own boats and pontoons, positioning and connection by divers.
- Hand-over and maintenance: installation record with the position of each item and inspection plan.
